AFFIXATION

Affixation adalah proses pembentukan kata dengan menambahkan afiks (affixes) pada sebuah root atau base.

Affix = imbuhan

Root/Base = dasar kata

Affix tidak bisa berdiri sendiri dan harus menempel pada bentuk lain.

Jenis-Jenis Affixation

Affix dibagi menjadi empat jenis utama:

A. Prefix (awalan)

     Affix yang ditempatkan di depan kata dasar.

     Contoh dan fungsi:

B. Suffix (akhiran)

    Penggunaan infix sangat jarang dan digunakan dalam bahasa gaul

D. Circumfix (sangat jarang di gunakan)

A circumfix is an affix added to both the beginning and the end of a word at the same time.

English does not commonly use circumfixes, but some languages do.
